Joseph Carol Lewis, 65, of the 3500 block of Martin Johnson Rd., died Jan. 8, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
He was a retired pipefitter from Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a native of Martin County, N.C.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Francis R. Lewis; a son, Jimmie C. Lewis of California City, Calif.; two daughters, Teresa L. Reid of South Mills, N.C., and Joann Lewis of Chesapeake; and a brother, Donald W. Lewis of Portsmouth.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 3 p.m. in Brent-Lox Baptist Church, 1005 North George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake.
