Mr. Batton was retired from the Atlantic Container Lines Company of Norfolk.
Survivors includes two brothers, Harold L. ``Mike'' Batton of Virginia Beach, and Raymond E. ``Gene'' Batton of Cofield, N.C.; one sister, Sybil L. Eason of Clayton, N.C.
