Ruth Hilda Poissant, 63, of the 3600 block of Sagewood Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Poissant, was a native of North Syracuse, N.Y. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include her husband, Robert J. Poissant; a daughter, Maureen Poissant Barnes of Charlottesville, Va.; four sons, Mark Poissant of Syracuse, N.Y., Matthew Poissant of Newport News, Va., Michael Poissant of Charlotte, N.C., and Neil Poissant of Portsmouth; two brothers, Robert Massett of Miami, Fla., and Donald Massett of Hannibal, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Tricia, Eric, Jordan and Brett. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and John Massett.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Slowik, with cremation to follow. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in Foster Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association.
