Helen Hewlett Perry, 82, a Portsmouth native and Peninsula resident for the past 60 years, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996.
Mrs. Perry and her late husband, Gardner A. Perry, owned and operated the former Perry's Meat and Poultry Market in Newport News. Mrs. Perry was a Baptist.
She is survived by two sons, Donald A. Perry of Newport News and Ray H. Perry of Princess Anne, Md.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 9, 1996, by the retired Rev. Claude Roberts. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Wythe Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1430 Kecoughtan Road, Hampton, VA 23661, or a favorite charity.
