Rosa L. Ballard, 80, of the 1300 block of Goodman Lane, died Jan. 7, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Ballard, the widow of William C. Ballard, was a retired nurse's aide. She was a native of Henderson, N.C., and a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church, Portsmouth. She was involved in the nurse's aid and the senior choir.
Survivors include three daughters, Georgianna Elliott, Shirley Gibbs and Irene Edwards; a son, Raymond Ballard; four sisters, Bessie Blanchard, Julia Foster, Zell Davis, and Mattie Williams; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Olive Branch Baptist Church by the Rev. James B. Sharp. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Georgianna Elliott, 3905 Greenwood Drive, Portsmouth. Rogers Funeral Home is in charge.
