Ernest Linwood Jordan Jr., 69, of the 2700 block of Chesterfield Blvd., died Jan. 8, 1996.
He was a retired mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service, where he had worked for 35 years. He had been retired for 10 years. He was a native of Edenton, N.C., and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Marion A. Jordan of Norfolk; four daughters, Frances Brown, Evelyn Pollard, Ernestine Overton and Devonne Spruill; parents, Leila and Ernest L. Jordan Sr.; sister, Thersea Copeland; brother, Ervin Jordan; grandchildren, Vincent Jordan, Nathan Jordan, Jamila Jordan, Roger Jordan, Lorraine Brown, and Shena Jordan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Willie McNair at 2345 Indian River Road, Norfolk. The body will be placed in church on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. the family and friends will assemble in the home on Sat. at 10 a.m. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
