CHESAPEAKE - Eddie Eugene ``Ed'' Griffin of the 3900 block of Schooner Trail, a retired janitor, died Jan. 9, 1996, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Griffin was born in Norfolk and was a Methodist. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Exchange after 25 years.
Survivors include a sister, Doris Bobbitt Goodrich, and a brother, Robert Lee Griffin, both of Chesapeake; a stepsister, Mrs. Helen Bell Skinner of Chesapeake; a stepbrother, Mr. Lyman Bell of Jacksonville, Fla.; special aunt, Mrs. Shirley E. Ecklin of Chesapeake; four aunts, Mrs. Virginia Small of Norfolk, Mrs. Lucille Foreman of Chesapeake, Rosalyn Ellis of Portsmouth, Mrs. Tille Allen Jeffers of Smithfield; a brother-in-law, Mr. Lorenzo Goodrich; two nieces, Mrs. Cynthia Bobbitt Parker of Virginia Beach, Ms. Deneka A. Bobbitt of Norfolk; two great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Annie L. Griffin Bell and James Allen Griffin.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Metropolitan Funeral Service Chapel by the Rev. C.E. Eason. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at 2600 Cayce Drive, Chesapeake, at 11 a.m. Saturday for the procession to the chapel.
