FRANCES L. MARTIN

Frances Lumpkin Martin, 62, died Jan. 8, 1996, in her residence.

She was a native of Richland County, S.C. and worked at CBN. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Messiah.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann M. Varacallo of Smithfield, Va.; two sons, Vance Martin of Las Vegas, N.V., Joseph Y. Martin of Wake Forest, N.C.; two sisters, Jean Harvin of Manning, S.C. and Ann Brunson, of Alcolu, S.C.; brother, Joseph Lumpkin of Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren, Christine Ann Martin, Steven Michael Martin, Dominic Joseph Varacallo and Shannon Bogner. She was predeceased by a son, Wilson Martin and a brother, Bryan H. Lumpkin Jr.

A funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Marty O'Rouke in Episcopal Church of the Messiah. Burial is in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to an educational fund for a very dear and devoted friend of Frances' would be greatly appreciated.
