Ruth Ivins ``Ma'' Smith, 95, of the 5100 block of Peake Lane, died Jan. 11, 1996.
She was a retired clerk from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Supply Department, and a native of Portsmouth. She was a member of Cottage Place United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Fellowship Class and Lucille Johnson Circle. She was also a member of Miriam Chapter (NU)94 Order of the Eastern Star and Beazley Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn S. Ringler of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Renee Willhoite and her husband, Donald of Chesapeake, Carl E. Ringler of Portsmouth; and a great-granddaughter, Lauren E. Willhoite of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Cottage Place United Methodist Church by the Rev. James D. Thomas. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to Cottage Place United Methodist Church.
