ISAAC B. EWELL

Isaac Benjamin Ewell, 68, died Jan. 10, 1996, in a local hospital.

Mr. Ewell was a native of Knotts Island, N.C. He retired after 22 years of service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a tender operator. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Ewell was a member of the Aragona Moose Lodge and the Ruritans in Knotts Island.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret S. Ewell of Knotts Island; two daughters, Rebecca A. Mallema of South Carolina and Kathleen T. Ewell of Virginia Beach; three sons, Isaac R. Ewell and Thomas D. Ewell, both of Virginia Beach, George Ewell of North Carolina; a sister, Thelma Barton of California; a brother, Robert S. Ewell of Baltimore, Md.; and seven grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rosewood Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Chris Farrow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
