Audi wants to create greater emotion around the Audi name. Its TTS
roadster, above, designed in the United States, is equipped with a
powerful 1.8-liter, 210 horsepower, four-cylinder engine. Audi will
build 10,000 of them in 1998.
The Volve 850 R, with a turbocharged engine that pumps out 240
horsepower, goes on sale the end of January.
The 1997 Acura 2.2 CL couple, available in March, will sell for
approximately $30,000.
The 1997 Mercury Mountaineer, available this spring, offers Mercury
owners an off-road alternative.
