MARGUERITE B. BARCO

Marguerite Bluford Barco, 77, of the 2500 of Baltic Ave., died Jan. 11, 1996.

Mrs. Barco was a native of Norfolk and she lived all of her adult life in Virginia Beach. A 1939 graduate of the College of Notre Dane of Maryland, she had a lifelong interest in literature and theatre. In her later life, she was a voluminous poet. She worked with Theatre - Go - Round and Sandpiper Theatre during the 1950's and 60's. She was a member of Star of The Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. She was the daughter of the late Horace and Capitola Prince Bluford.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Benjamin Franklin Barco; two daughters, Marguerite Barco Burgess of Portsmouth and Camilla Barco-Kalman of Burke, Va.; a son, Lawrence Franklin Barco of Farwell, Mich.; also six grandchildren, Dean Burgess and Julia Barco Burgess of Portsmouth, Michael Gregory Kalman of Burke, Va., and Matthew Duane Barco, Patrick Bluford Barco, and Claire Langan Barco of Farwell, Mich.; three sisters, Doris Bluford Wood and Frances Bluford Nixon both of Virginia Beach, Carol Bluford Seaquist of Annopalis, Md.; and a niece and several nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge the many kindnesses of neighbors Charles and Choleast Black.

A church service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monaday at Star of The Sea Catholic Church by Fr. William V. Sullivan. Burial will be at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery Virginia Beach. H.D.Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
