Lillian D. Smoke, 94, of the 1400 block of Huntington Crescent, died Jan. 11, 1996, in her home.
Mrs. Smoke, a teacher in Norfolk public schools, was a native of Mascatine, Iowa. Mrs. Smoke was the widow of Clinton H. Smoke Sr. She was the daughter of the late George and Rosa Dotthof.
She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Iowa, a life member of the YWCA and its board, a 25-year volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Center, and a member of Fourth Nightly Book Club. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa.
Survivors include a daughter, Emilie J. Smoke of Norfolk; a son, Clinton H. Smoke Jr. of Burke, Va.; three grandchildren, Kimberly Jean Smoke of San Francisco, Calif., Clinton Hamilton Smoke III of Raleigh, N.C., John C. Smoke of Gainesville, Fla.; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha A. Smoke.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
