Frances L. ``Lady'' Hurdle, of the 6300 block of Bradley Way, died Jan. 11, 1996, in Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth.
Mrs. Hurdle, a former fashion consultant, worked for Montgomery Ward Department Store. She was a native of Robertsport, Cape Mount, Liberia, South Africa. She was confirmed in the Episcopal Church of Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia.
Survivors include her husband, William Glenn Hurdle Jr.; a daughter, Mamie A. Hill of Cleveland, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Sonia Doswell of Atlanta, Renee Hurdle of Fairbanks, Alaska, Synlethia Bagwell of Chesapeake; a son, Marine Staff Sgt. Thomas E. Jefferson Jr. of Cleveland; her mother, Mamie G. Cooper of Chesapeake; three brothers, Richard B. Butler of New Jersey, Andrew H. Butler of San Francisco, Calif., and Robert E. Butler of Liberia and Columbia, Md.; two grandchildren; aunt, Elizabeth Gordon Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth by the Rev. F.R. Williams. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
