Police on Friday identified two Norfolk women whose bodies were found Thursday morning in separate locations, one in the parking lot of Lake Taylor Middle School.
The woman found at Lake Taylor was identified as Karen D. Miller, 29. A student arriving just after 7 a.m. discovered the body. Miller was not connected with Lake Taylor, the school's principal said.
Two hours earlier, police responded to the report of a body in the 9200 block of Marlow Ave., located several miles away from Lake Taylor in the Pamlico neighborhood.
That woman was identified as Angela D. Hawkins, 36.
A nearby resident spotted the body lying in the street in the neighborhood, which is located near the Norfolk Naval Air Station.
Police spokesman Larry Hill said the deaths are being handled as separate homicide cases. Police did not release the women's addresses. Nor did they say how they died.
No arrests had been made late Friday, and police had not identified any motive, Hill said. MEMO: Police are asking anyone with information on either woman to call Crime
