John Garland Bouldin, 82, of Red Hill Rd., died Friday evening at his residence.
Mr. Bouldin was born in Danville. He retired in 1971 after 30 years with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. At the time of his retirement, he was a quarterman. He wintered in Orange City, Fla. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He is survived by his wife, Fannie Dolinger Bouldin; a daughter and son-in-law, Lucille B. and Joe Popp of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Brian and Amy Popp, Teri Popp, Eric Popp, Toni and John Branchizio; two great-grandchildren, Rachel Popp and Tyler Branchizio; and a very close niece, Ms. Dotti Long of Fairfax.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Cleon Ross officiating. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Deltona Memorial Gardens in Deltona, Fla. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
