Edmonia ``Mona'' Byrum Hofler, 89, died Jan. 13, 1996, in the Guardian Care Nursing Home in Rocky Mount.
A native of Chowan County, Mrs. Hofler was a daughter of the late Eli T. and Ida Pierce Byrum and the wife of the late Luther Hofler. Mrs. Hofler was a member of the Rocky Hock Baptist Church and was retired from the Davis Jewelers Company in Edenton.
Surviving Mrs. Hofler is her son-in-law, Marion Cash of Tarboro; a sister, Jessie Crockett of Suffolk; three brothers, Edwin Byrum and Alvin Byrum, both of Carrsville, Va., and Ray Byrum of Edenton; a granddaughter, Martha Wells of Rocky Mount; and two great-granddaughters, Rachel Marie Wells and Leslie Paige Wells, both of Rocky Mount.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Beaver Hill Cemetery by Rev. Ron Cava. The family will be meeting at the residence of Ray and Francis Byrum. The Evans Funeral Home of Edenton is serving the Hofler family.
