CAREER TRACK

CONSTRUCTION

The board of directors of Hoy Construction Inc. in Norfolk has elected officers for the new year. H.C. Hoy was elected chairman and chief executive officer; James L. Craig III, president; Jeff W. Knowles, vice president, and Adam W. Ritt was named vice president.

MEDIA

Julia Fletcher was named director of corporate events at International Family Entertainment Inc. in Virginia Beach. She will oversee all corporate events including ad sales, affiliate, press and industry events. Previously, she served as manager of corporate communications.

HEALTH CARE

Mary T. Lindstedt was named hospice division manager at In Home Health in Virginia Beach. She will be responsible for developing and directing the hospice program for both the Virginia Beach and Suffolk offices. Previously, she was the director of hospice for Personal Touch in Norfolk.

SERVICE

John S. Walker was named a retail marketing manager for the retail division for Miller Oil Co. in Norfolk. He was formerly an account manager with Continental Baking Co. in Richmond.

Also, Robin M. Greene has also joined the oil company as director of its fast food operations of the Miller Marts. She was formerly a general manager with Wendy's International.

LAW

Michael B. Hamar has joined Tavss, Fletcher, Earley & King in Norfolk. He was previously a partner with Faggert & Frieden in Chesapeake. He will continue to practice in the areas of complex business transactions, real estate and commercial, municipal and tax-exempt financing.

Alfred M. Randolph Jr. and Pamela J. Piscatelli have opened offices in the irginia Beach office of Kaufman & Canoles. Randolph is a partner with the firm and practices general business law, lending and bank representation in matters of corporate and commercial finance and asset-based lending and in intellectual property law, including trademark and copyright registration. Piscatelli is an associate of the firm and specializes in matters involving real estate finance, land use and administrative proceedings. Also, Arlene F. Klinedinst and Patrick H. O'Donnell have been named members to Kaufman & Canoles in Norfolk. Klinedinst advises and represents employers in all areas of labor and employment law. Before joining the firm, she worked as a staff attorney for the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board. O'Donnell practices general, civiland criminal litigation before all state and federal courts and concentrates his practice in the areas of government contracts and white-collar criminal defense. He served as law clerk to Richard B. Kellam, United States district judge.

REAL ESTATE

Stephen P. Bardwell was named director of sales and marketing for the appraisal division at Fox & Associates, appraisal and auction specialists in Virginia Beach. He was the former president of Bay Orthopedic and Sports Medicine and was Northeast regional sales manager with Mitek Surgical Products Inc. in Norfolk.

And, Chris Welch is back as assistant auction coordinator for the auction division of Fox. She transferred for a year from Fox to be general manager of Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters Business Thrift.

MARKETING

Stephen Jernigan was named an art director and Karen Breedlove was named a media buyer at Primm and Co., a full service marketing and communications agency in Norfolk. Most recently, Jernigan was a graphic artist at The Virginian-Pilot. Before that, he worked with the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond. Breedlove was previously a senior media buyer for syndication at the Christian Broadcasting Network. She has also held positions at advertising agencies in Hampton Roads and Nashville, Tenn.

MID-ATLANTIC

First Vice President and Director of National Research Guy P. Chance was named managing director of market strategy at Scott & Stringfellow in Richmond. He will serve as the company's spokesperson for equity-oriented investment ideas originating from the firm's 12-person research department, and from two Wall Street investment firms with which the firm has research relationships.
