A 33-year-old Waverly man died Monday when his car ran off Route 40, just west of Route 611, and struck several trees, state police said.
Alcohol or drowsiness may have been a factor, state police said.
The accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. as Thomas O. Holmes headed east in his 1987 Chevrolet Camaro. Holmes' car ran off the road, struck the trees and he was pinned in the vehicle.
Holmes died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
