Joseph Wilson Ellis, of the 100 block of Elmhurst Court, died Jan. 15, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Ellis, a native of Zuni, Va., was retired from the Civil Service Supply Center. He was also retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years. Mr. Ellis was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lois S. Ellis; a daughter, Delores E. Wade of Virginia Beach; a son, Wayne T. Ellis of Norfolk; two stepsons, Joel D. Hardy of Virginia Beach and Jonathan D. Hardy of Portsmouth; a sister, Terry Virginia Kane of Salisbury, Md.; a half-brother, Lyman B. Ellis of Danville, Va.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anna Marie Ellis; a daughter, Delaine E. White; and a son, Warren L. Ellis.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. R.V. Smith. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
