Madeline C. Swartz
VIRGINIA BEACH - Madeline Carol Swartz, 60, of the 1300 block of Lakeview Drive, died on Monday, Jan. 15, 1996, in her residence.
She was born in Norfolk, and was a 1953 graduate of Norview High School. She was retired from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel as an administrative assistant.
Mrs. Swartz was a charter member of Norview Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, and later was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach. She was a past worthy matron of the Westminster Chapter, No. 99, Order of the Eastern Star, and a past president of the Tidewater Chapter of the Professional Secretaries International.
Survivors include her parents, Minnie Elizabeth Fentress Webster and Donald E. Webster of Norfolk; her beloved husband, Floyd D. Swartz Jr.; son, Carl E. Swartz and his wife, Susan, of Yulee, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Shannon M. Swartz and Carl E. Swartz II, both of Yulee.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bayside Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Richard J. Keever. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park in Norfolk. The family will be at the Cox Funeral Home today from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
