Michael F. La Bouve', 63, of the 300 block of Caren Drive, died Jan. 15, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. La Bouve', a native of Sheboygan, Wis., was a Provost at Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach Campus. He was a member of Kings Grant Baptist Church; Princess Anne Rotary; Hampton Roads Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; a member of the Advisory Committee (Board) Virginia Center on Aging; a member of Virginia Community College Professional Development Committee; past chairman of Chamber of Commerce; past chair of Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce; and past member of Mayors Committee on Aging for Virginia Beach. Mr. La Bouve' was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and BPK Provost at TCC from 1971 to 1996. He was dean of students at the University of Alabama, Huntsville from 1964 to 1968.
Survivors include his wife, Janelle S. La Bouve' of the home; two daughters, Annette La Bouve' Rickard of Topeka, Kan., and Marian Renne' La Bouve' of Washington, N.C.; four sons, Michael A. La Bouve', Patrick L. La Bouve', Paul D. La Bouve', and James B. La Bouve', all of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Pierre J. La Bouve' of Chicago, and James E. La Bouve' of Little Rock, Ark.; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Kings Grant Baptist Church by the Rev. Jerry Holcomb. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The family requests contributions be made to Habitat for Humanity of Virginia Beach or Judeo Christian Outreach Center, Virginia Beach.
