Evelyn V. Johnson, 74, of the 1000 block of Warfield Drive, died Jan. 14, 1996, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson, the widow of James L. Johnson Sr., was a native of Portsmouth. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Midtown Congregration.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Blount of Norfolk; a son, James L. Johnson Jr. of Portsmouth; three sisters, Hattie Stukes of Portsmouth, Helen Reynolds of Shelby, N.C., and Mary McIver of Chesapeake; three brothers, Herbert Smith, Arthur Smith and Melvin Smith, all of Portsmouth; four granddaughters; an aunt, Bessie Goss of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in The Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses, Elliott Avenue, Portsmouth, by Minister Jemmott R. Harris. The family and friends will assemble at Kingdom Hall at 12:45 p.m. Saturday. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
