Wilma O. Harper, 77, of the 800 block of Shenandoah River Road, died Jan. 15, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Harper, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., was a retired seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, John S. Harper Sr.; two daughters, W. Janet Pierre of Norfolk and Mona Joy Bonner of Chesapeake; a son, John S. Harper Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters, Enid Whittington and Lelia Watson, both of California, Launa Lester of New Jersey, and Ruth Hunley of New York; a brother, James N. Tempro of New York; five grandsons, John S. Harper III, Maurice Harper, Malcolm Carter, Drew Bonner, and Chris Bonner; two special friends, Cathleen Canada and Alice Watts. Her life was a testimony to the everlasting power of faith and love.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by the Rev. S.D. Shepherd Sr. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19103.
