David T. Moore Jr., of the 4000 block of Spring Meadow Crescent, died Jan. 15, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Moore, a retired supervisor, worked at the Norfolk Naval Base for 37 years. He was a native of Clover, Va., and a member of Zion Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was a member of the senior choir and chaplain of the Men's Chorus of Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Moore was a member of Mount Gilead Lodge (NU)102, Order of Masons. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret S. Moore; a daughter, Clarissa M. Statman of Hampton; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, in-laws, friends, and a devoted god-daughter, Vanessa W. Ruff of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Zion Baptist Church by Dr. H.E. Whitaker. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, with military honors. The viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday.
