North Carolina Seafood Industrial Park will have two new tenants this spring, Director Rodney W. Perry said Tuesday. When the new tenants move in March 1, all of the park's buildings will be rented. About half of the lots have been leased.
During a Tuesday morning meeting and teleconference with nine of the seafood park's 11 board members, the group unanimously voted to:
Allow Gregory Poole Power Systems of Raleigh to set up shop in the northern half of the former King Crab Seafood Co. building - a non-waterfront state-owned structure near the park's entrance. Gregory Poole Power Systems sells and services marine engines.
Allow Carolina Yacht Interiors to open its business in the other half of the King Crab building. A company that designs and manufactures boat cabinets and inside equipment, Carolina Yacht Interiors already is open in another Wanchese location.
Allow Top Fin Seafood Co. to sub-lease a portion of its park building to Ocean Marine Inc., an engine repair business. Top Fin will continue to be a tenant at the seafood park, Perry said, but will rent part of its space to Ocean Marine.
Allow workers to begin building a 40- by 80-foot, one-story building that would be available to lease to future tenants. The 3,200-square-foot structure is scheduled to be ready to lease by June.
Any seafood or marine-related industry is welcome to rent land or buildings from the waterfront state seafood park, Perry said. For more information, or to inquire about leasing opportunities, call Perry at 473-5867. by CNB
