Regarding J. H. Johnson's letter (Jan. 9) concerning a name-change for The Virginian-Pilot:
I have lived here since 1990 and have learned enough about the history of this area to be ashamed. The Virginian-Pilot can't change its name to Hampton Roads Pilot until the politicians stop their huffing and puffing. Their greed will never allow this community to blossom.
Whether the community is named Norfolk or Hampton Roads is unimportant. We should be as one.
Go Navy! I will remember those politicians who attempted to change my retired pay - every one of them!
