RUTH P. STANLEY

Ruth P. Stanley, 83, of the 200 block of South Newton Road, died Jan. 16, 1996.

She was a retired cashier from B & M Market. She was a native of Richmond and had lived in Norfolk for 50 years.

Survivors include two sons, Robert O. Stanley and his wife, Mary, of Virginia Beach, Thomas O. Stanley and his wife, Judy, of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Blanche P. Wright of Richmond; three grandchildren, David O. Stanley, Lori A. Stanley, both of Virginia Beach, Steven T. Stanley and his wife, Kelly, of Suffolk; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla B. Stanley of Suffolk. She leaves several loving nieces and nephews in Richmond, Va., and many caring friends at Sentara Village, Norfolk, where she lived for the past 2 and a half years.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Danny Kesner. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
