LAURETTA J. HAARMAN

Lauretta June Haarman, 73, of the 5400 block of Tidewater Drive, died Jan. 16, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.

She was a retired purchasing agent for the Naval Supply Center where she had worked for 23 years. She was the widow of John Clem Haarman Sr. She was born in Spokane, Wash., and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. During her lifetime she was involved with numerous activities including being a den mother with the Boy Scouts at Holy Trinity Catholic Church; active with the N.A.S Little League; and a member of the National Contract Management Association.

She is survived by three daughters, Ethel June and her husband, Dean Bruner of Tampa, Fla., Debra Ann and her husband, Robert Almeter of Norfolk, Sue and her husband Opha Lawson of West Lafayette, Ohio; two sons, John C. Haarman Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Albun Hills, Mich., Tony Haarman of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren, Dawn, Bobby, Nicholas, Annette, Barbara, Christina, John III, Samantha, Billie, Chris, Opha Jr., Chuck, and Axley; and three great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Edward Richardson in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
