Mrs. Katherine Whitaker Brantley, 73, of 13-F Pine St., Snug Harbor, Hertford, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1996, in her home.
A native of Martin County, N.C., she was the wife of Bennett E. Brantley and daughter of the late William L. and Etha Rogers Whitaker. Prior to her retirement, she worked as an aircraft instrument mechanic at the Norfolk Naval Air Station. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Idell Nelson and Mrs. Evelyn Nelson of Williamston; two brothers, Clifton Whitaker of Wilmington, Ohio and Odis Whitaker of Robersonville.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Swindell Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Boyd. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Swindell Funeral Home, Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
