James William ``Bill'' Gunter Jr., 72, of the 1600 block of East Bayview Blvd., died Jan. 16, 1996, in a Hampton hospital.
Mr. Gunter, a native of Norfolk, was retired from the U.S. Government Naval Air Rework Facility, where he worked for 27 years. He was a Cpl. in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Freeman Gunter; a daughter, Linda Gunter Boyd-Prince of Virginia Beach; a sister, Betty Lee Hersch of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and two stepdaughters, Patricia Woods of Norfolk and Kelley Freeman of Virginia Beach.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Father Edward L. Richardson. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to John A. Lejeune, Virginia Beach Detachment, Marine Corps League, P.O.
