LOUIS C. SPIVEY

Louis Calvin Spivey Sr. C.L.U., 59, of Bromfield Ave., died Jan. 17, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mr. Spivey was retired from Prudential Life Insurance Co. after 30 years. He was a sales manager for 15 of those years. He was a native of Johnson County, N.C., and a member of Bayside Baptist Church. Mr. Spivey was a deacon of the church and worked on Habitat for Humanity of Bayside Baptist Church. He was also a past deacon of the Bayside Christian Church. Mr. Spivey was active in various life insurance organizations.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Hunter Spivey; a son, Louis Calvin Spivey Jr. and his wife, Janice Reynolds Spivey, of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Velma Lois Spivey and Betty Spivey Winters, both of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Melvin Barnes Spivey of Raleigh, N.C., William Bronza Spivey of Chesapeake, James David Spivey of Richmond; a granddaughter, Amanda Jo Ann Spivey of Virginia Beach.

The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Donald Wilson and the Rev. Bruce Minett. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorial donations may be made to Bayside Baptist Church, 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach 23455 or to the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton Road, N.E., Atlanta, Ga. 30329.
