WILLIS A. HARPER

Willis A. Harper, 79, of the 500 block of East Little Creek Road, died Jan. 16, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Harper, a retired merchant seaman, worked for Seafarers International Union. He was a native of Camden, N.C., and a member of Oakdale Presbyterian Church. Mr. Harper was a 50-year member of Loyal Order of the Moose (NU)39, American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Estela R. Harper; a brother, James I. Harper of Florida; two grandchildren, Brenda Crago, Kenneth Tarlton; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, and Jonothan; an aunt, Agnes Sykes Kilgore of Norfolk; former stepdaughter, Shirley McGlauflin of Norfolk; five nephews, Terry and Dennis Harper of Florida, LeRoy Overton, James Overton Jr. and Frank Overton, all of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oakdale Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Kenneth King. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakdale Presbyterian Church.
