A woman who fatally stabbed her boyfriend last year during an argument pleaded guilty Wednesday in Circuit Court to voluntary manslaughter.
Brenda W. Singh, 29, was sentenced to 10 years, suspended, with six months to serve, court officials said.
Her charge was reduced from murder to voluntary manslaughter as part of her plea agreement.
On Oct. 2, Singh and her boyfriend, 33-year-old Calvin Wilkerson, were in their apartment in the 1700 block of Claiborne Ave. when the dispute began. Wilkerson struck Singh. She then picked up a knife and stabbed him in the chest, records show.
The two had been drinking when the fight occurred, officials said.
