FRANK R. POWERS

Frank Richard Powers, of the 600 block of Cunningham Road, died Jan. 16, 1996, in his residence.

Mr. Powers, a sargent of guards, worked at Norshipco. He was a native of Forward Township, Allegheny County, Pa. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 26 years of service. He was active with scouting. Mr. Powers was a loving husband and father and will be missed by a host of friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Shamya Powers of the home; a daughter, Kim Powers of Indian Head, Md.; two sons, Scott Powers of San Antonio, Texas, Keith Powers of Virginia Beach; a sister, Janet Prendergrast of Alliance, Ohio; two grandchildren, Matthew Powers of San Antonio and Victoria Powers of Virginia Beach; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Clara Hill Powers and Allen P. Powers.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Little Creek Amphibous Base Blessed Sacrement Chapel by Father Joseph Ceriello, U.S. Navy. Entombment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery. The family will be receiving friends in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The family will receive friends after the entombment in the family's lounge of Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Davis Corne Rescue Squad.
