Two more Currituck County residents have filed for local office.
Gary Montalbine, a Republican of Knotts Island, is running for the Board of Commissioners' Fruitville Township seat. Ernie Bowden of Carova currently holds that position and has not filed for re-election.
John Barnes, also of Knotts Island, filed to retain his seat on the county's Board of Education. Incumbent Janet Taylor of Moyock filed for re-election earlier this month.
Other early filers include Charlene Dowdy for re-election as register of deeds and Gene Gregory, the current commissioner of Shawboro.
