Richard Lee Cooke, 76, of 337 Governors Road, died Friday, Jan. 19, 1996, in Chowan Hosptial.
He was a native of Bertie County and a member of Cashie Baptist Church. He was also a member of the North Carolina Peanut Growers Association and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Cowan Cooke; daughter, Bonnie Cooke Perry of Ahoskie; son, James L. ``Jimmy'' Cooke of Robersonville, N.C.; sisters, Pattie C. Hurdle of Aulander, N.C., and Sarah C. Allen of Emporia, Va.; and four grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today in Edgewood Cemetery by the Rev. Grover Everette. Memorial gifts may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 3400 Peachtree Road, N.E., Atlanta, Ga. 30326. Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, is in charge of the arrangements.
