Virgil Irvin Northcott Sr., 81, of 1335 Meadow Road, died Jan. 20, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Northcott was a native of Bertie County, N.C. and was a retired farmer and merchant. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He was the widower of Eva Perry Northcott.
Survivors include a daughter, Dale N. Knowles of Windsor, N.C.; two sons, Virgil Northcott Jr. of Ahoskie and Don Northcott of Colerain; and three grandchildren, Marty Northcott, Donald Northcott and Susan Knowles.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, with the Rev. Hines Adams officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
