Police are searching for an escapee from the city farm compound who apparently drove off in a guard's car Saturday afternoon.
Vincent R. Yates, 33, was given the guard's 1994 Nissan Maxima to wash, according to the police. He apparently fled the farm compound in the car, a white, four door with Virginia plates, FN3860.
Yates is described as a black male, 5 ft. 6 in., 165 lbs. He last lived in the 3900 block of Madison Ave. in Newport News. He was last seen wearing a burgundy top and light colored jeans.
