LAURA R. CARR

Laura Redfearn Carr, of Bay Colony in Virginia Beach, died on Jan. 20, 1996.

Mrs. Carr was born on April 2, 1910, and was the daughter of Ephrain Eugene and Rebecca Laney Redfearn. She was married to David Coleman Carr. Mrs. Carr was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She had been a rural letter carrier in Princess Anne County for 28 years. She was one of the first women letter carriers in Southeastern Virginia.

Mrs. Carr was known for her extensive civic and social involvement. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach. She was a 40-year member of the Princess Anne County Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Norfolk Mace Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a 50-year member of Princess Anne Women's Club. In addition, she was a devoted supporter of the Cavalier and Virginia Societies of the Children of the American Revolution.

Mrs. Carr is survived by her daughter, Martha C. Huddleston of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by two grandsons, Jon Huddleston and his wife, Cyndy, of Ashburn, Va., and Sam Huddleston and his wife, Michelle, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and by her great-grandson, Robert Carr Huddleston.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church. Visitation will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
