Bessie M. Hoskins, 75, of the 1100 block of Alcindor Road, died Jan. 17, 1996, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
She was a retired former beautician at Fisher Funeral Home and a former beautician at Hattie's Beauty Salon. She was the widow of Hugh B. Hoskins and was a member of Celestial Baptist Church, Portsmouth, where she was involved in the Jolly Workers Club. She was a member of Portsmouth Registered Beauticians.
She is survived by a daughter, Agatha G. Boone of Portsmouth; three sons, Benjamin F. Gunter III of Chesapeake, Vernon C. Gunter Sr. of Onancock, Va., and James M. Victory of Chesapeake; a brother, John Ward of New York City; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a son-in-law; and three daughters-in-law.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon today by the Rev. Leon J. Boone in Celestial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will be at 1123 Alcindor Road, Portsmouth. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
