Roger Reese Bryant, 92, died Sunday in Roanoke Valley Nursing Home in Rich Square, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila Davis Bryant; two daughters, Corenia B. Overby and Angelyn B. Overby; one son, Beckwith Bryant; and one grandson, Ralph R. Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a native of Northampton County and was a retired electrician and plumber. His memberships included the Conway Baptist Church, where he served on the board of deacons, and the Conway Ruritan Club. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason in Pendleton Lodge Number 524, where he achieved the status of Lecturer. He was a Shriner and past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Alice B. Richey of Conway; one son, Fletcher R. Bryant and his wife, Jean, of Pendleton; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Conway Baptist Church by the Rev. James Hester. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the Conway Cemetery. The family will receive in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Bryant, Vaughan's Creek Road, Pendleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conway Baptist Church Elevator Fund. Bridgers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
