HILDA M. PROUT

Hilda M. Prout, 88, a retired school teacher, of the 400 block of Schoolhouse Road, died Friday, Jan. 19, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Prout was born in Peekskille, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late James Scott and Mary Wren Lenahan. She graduated with her master's degree from New York University and was a life member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Prout was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake and was also a member of the church's Grand Group. Formerly she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Honorary Teachers Association and the Chesapeake Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include her daughter, Joan P. Keon; her two grandchildren, Michael and Karry Keon and her great-grandchild, Haley Keon all of Chesapeake.

The funeral mass will be conducted 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1995, in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. Rev. Christian Haydinger will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service until 8 p.m.
