Mildred Baker Sawyer, 84, of the 1500 block of Hawthorne Drive, died Jan. 22, 1996.
Mrs. Sawyer, the widow of Cecil W. Sawyer, was a retired salesperson with Altchuls and WT Grants. She was a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., and a member of Chesapeake First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include three stepsons, Willie Marvin Sawyer, Wallace Sawyer, Emmett Sawyer; three sisters, Mahala Higginbotham of Narrows, Va., Sarah White of Manns Harbor, N.C., and Blanche B. Carlisle of Chesapeake; two brothers, George Watson Baker Jr. of Chesapeake and Warlon A. Baker of Cherry Hill, N.J.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. Wayne Sawyer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, and at the residence at all other times.
