SOLOMAN CHEATHAM SR.

Soloman Cheatham Sr. of the 1400 block of W. 37th St., died Jan. 21, 1996 in his residence.

Mr. Cheatham was born in Norfolk and was a member of St. Mark's RZUA Church. He retired from the Naval Air Station as an aircraft surface worker after 30 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Mae Cheatham; two daughters, Sandra Ross and Janis Cheatham, both of Norfolk; three sons, Soloman Cheatham Jr. and Andre' Cheatham, both of Chesapeake, and Ronald Cheatham of Texas; a niece, Lillie Cheatham Wright and a nephew, Joseph Cheatham, both of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in St. Mark RZUA Church by the Rev. Ben Thomas. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The remains will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. The family will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
