A man who escaped from the city prison farm Saturday afternoon in a guard's car turned himself in to police Monday morning.
Police had been looking for Vincent R. Yates since he apparently drove away after being given the car to wash, police said.
An off-duty police officer spotted the car Monday morning parked in the 600 block of 40th St. A short time later, Yates surrendered at the farm.
Yates faces charges of grand larceny and escaping from prison.
