Frederick Douglas Cottrell departed this life Jan. 13, 1996 at Logan Park Center in Logan, W.Va. He was the son of the late Charles and Nannie Cottrell.
He was a resident of Norfolk for many years where he was the custodian at Bute Street Baptist Church in Norfolk. He served his country with distinction in the Korean and World War II. He is survived by one sister, Georgia Hewitt of Portsmouth; one brother, Granville Cottrell of Louisa, Ky.; and one niece, Yvonne H. Brown of Virginia Beach.
Funeral services were held Jan. 19, 1996 in Logan, W. Va. with Chatman Funeral Home presiding and interment at The National Veterans Cemetery in Grafton, W.Va. with military honors.
