STEPHANIE O'BRIEN

Stephanie O'Brien, 66, died Jan. 23, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.

She was a registered nurse at Portland Adventist Medical Center, Portland, for 20 years. She was a native of Sarrail, Alberta, Canada. She was a Catholic. She was an avid hockey fan and a member of Portland Winter Hawks Booster Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Paulette Straub and her husband, David, of Portsmouth, Cheryl O'Brien of Houston, Texas; her mother, Olga Foort of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada; three sisters, Edith Orr of Las Vegas, Nev., Pauline Weaver of Shidler, Okla., Diana Gerela of Albany, Ga.; six brothers, Michael Gerela of Kelowna, Nicholas Gerela of Powell River, British Columbia, Canada, Danny Gerela of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Metro Gerela of Vancouver, Ted Gerela of Langley, British Columbia, Roy Gerela of Las Cruces, New Mexico; four grandchildren, David Straub, Kurt Straub, Brien Straub, and Stephanie Straub, all of Portsmouth. She was preceded in death by her father, William Gerela; a daughter, Stephanie O'Brien; and a son, Vincent O'Brien.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday 11 a.m. in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by Father Leo Manalo. The family will receive friends a hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Martha Davis Cancer Center at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth.
