JAMES C. MILLER IV

Lt. Col. James Clement Miller IV, U.S. Air Force, 45, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and a Virginia Beach resident for three years, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, and was director of educational assessment at the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk since August of 1993. He was a 1972 graduate of the University of Alabama and received his masters degree in information management systems from the University of Southern California. He served in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie J. Miller; one daughter, Carey Elizabeth Miller of Richmond; two sons, Paul Scott Miller and John Christopher Miller, both of the home; his mother, Katherine G. Miller of Leighton, Ala.; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. James C. Miller II of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Marie Whitehead of Brentwood, Tenn.; a brother, Walter Redman Miller of Florence, Ala.; a grandson of Norman, Okla.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, by Dr. J. Shepherd Russell. Burial will be in the Quantico National Cemetery on Monday, Jan. 29, 1996. Memorials may be made to the James C. Miller IV Memorial Fund, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 820 Colonial Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23501. Arrangements are by W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home.
