LOTTIE ROGERS

Lottie Rogers, 81, of the 400 block of South St., died Jan. 23, 1996, in a local hospital.

She was a native of Conway, N.C., and the widow of Lawrence Rogers. She was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Portsmouth.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Rogers of Jamaica Plains, Mass. and Joe Ann Tillar of Portsmouth; son, Theodore Rogers of Portsmouth; sister, Ella Vess of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a dedicated son-in-law, Reginald Tillar of Portsmouth. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine B. Vess and her father, William Vess.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Curtis Edmonds in St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will assemble at 414 South St., Apt. B, at 12:15 p.m. today for the procession to the church. Serenity Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
